    The experience

Manuel Antonio National Park Guided Walk

Manuel Antonio National Park is the smallest and most biodiverse national park in Costa Rica — a compact 16 km² mosaic of primary and secondary tropical rainforest that spills straight onto white-sand Pacific beaches. Our private guided wildlife walk is designed to make the most of that density: with an expert naturalist and a professional spotting scope you can expect three-toed and two-toed sloths in the cecropia trees, white-faced capuchin, mantled howler and Central American squirrel monkeys (the endangered mono titi is a Manuel Antonio specialty), coatis, agoutis, iguanas, basilisks, and a long list of birds — fiery-billed aracari, chestnut-mandibled toucans, trogons, motmots, tanagers and pelicans working the coastline. The 2 to 3-hour walk follows the shaded, mostly flat main trail (Perezoso and Sendero Playa Espadilla Sur), so it suits families, seniors and casual hikers, and finishes at Playa Manuel Antonio for an optional swim. Early-morning entries deliver the highest wildlife activity and cooler temperatures. Included: park ticket, bilingual naturalist guide and scope. a relaxed, photography-friendly way to see Costa Rica's most iconic wildlife park without navigating the queues alone. Transport is not included — we quote it separately by hotel and zone.

I reached out to Elias 2 weeks ago for a photo tour during my stay at La Fortuna. He set up a birding tour, an amazing night photo tour in La Fortuna and a wildlife photo tour in Manuel Antonio National Park. Guides Gabriel, José "Chino" and Andrew were exceptionally knowledgeable — they suggested good compositions for photography (my first time at wildlife photo) and found specific species I wanted. Elias was prompt, pleasant and made sure each tour was reasonably priced with attention to detail. He even got us discounts on self-guided hikes. Communication was excellent in English throughout. I would highly recommend Elias Nature Tours for all guided tour needs in La Fortuna and beyond.
