🌋 La Fortuna – Classic Combo Experience

The classic La Fortuna combo condenses the three most iconic experiences of the Arenal region into a single, well-paced day with private transport and a bilingual naturalist guide. You begin at Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park — 3.2 km of forest trails with 16 bridges (six of them suspension bridges up to 90 meters long and 55 meters above the canopy) that give eye-level access to toucans, motmots, orioles and, on lucky mornings, sloths and eyelash pit vipers. From there you continue to the Arenal 1968 Trails, a private reserve that borders Arenal Volcano National Park and preserves the actual 1968 lava flow that gave the volcano its modern cone; the interpretive walk explains the eruption, the geology of the region and the succession ecology that reclaimed the slope, with panoramic views of the volcano and Lake Arenal. The day closes at the La Fortuna Waterfall — a 70-meter cascade tucked in a canyon of primary rainforest, reached by 500 stairs — with time for a swim in the plunge pool. The pace is relaxed enough for families and photographers, and a typical Costa Rican lunch at a local restaurant is included. Ideal for travelers with only one full day in La Fortuna who want a balanced mix of wildlife, geology and scenery.
